Korean culture is not about the look of people only, neither hallyu, its about that they recently just stopped physical punishment at schools. that they cannot handle a virus. that they treat half koreans less than a human. that the military way of thinking is in the whole society. that as a women you have a lot of push about your look and what man to marry. and to be better. specially if you are raised in a foreign country. you have to be the best to prevent people pickig at you. or not sitting next to you at the classes cuz you look"weird". that people gonna laugh at your accent, or throw mean words at you.
because when i was a kid there was no fucking fetishization at that time, nobody told me my asian parts were pretty, they kept talking about my weird look, or if i complained back they said “shut up cuz your chinese”
so please take that one with east asian cultures if you happened to be born as an asian in your next life too.
